In “Pentecost” written by David Edgar and Directed by John Grabowski I played Fatima who is a Kurdish refugee seeking Asylum in Europe.
I loved the character and the challenge that came with playing her. I was passionate about playing her and being a part of this play period. Fatima had a tragic life having to endure more than most at her age.
She is a former PKK fighter whose mother and son have been murdered and father killed in the Halabja massacre. I had to play the character in the Turkish language (a language I don’t speak).
I dove deep into the character with my heart and soul determined to do her story justice and to bring her alive onstage every night.
